danielv2000 Posted January 4, 2012 Report Posted January 4, 2012 Since we hijacked the Space Dweller thread with the the whole discussion about JMB's discovery of a replacement crystal for the SSD, I am wondering about a similar replacement for the Noob GMT? I have a BK Transformer which I absolutely love. As with the SSD, the LEC at 6 o'clock is much too visible and would love to get rid of it. This watch gets as much wrist time as my Sub. I've never enquired but would a gen crystal fit on this? If not, is there a similar "JMB option"? Thanks
jmb Posted January 4, 2012 Report Posted January 4, 2012 All of the Noob Subs take an odd sized crystal so I doubt the GMT would be any different. You could pop it out, measure the diameter and thickness, and go from there. I seem to remember the Noob crystal is made a bit differently than others so you might have to bed in a replacement with clear epoxy.
alligoat Posted January 4, 2012 Report Posted January 4, 2012 I agree with jmb, pop out the crystal and measure it and check the sides- are they smooth? If they are, you're in luck. If not, the sub noob crystal is supposedly notched, you're probably SOL. And of course, you would have to order a cyclops separately and glue it on to the crystal if a plain crystal will work.
Tribal Posted January 4, 2012 Report Posted January 4, 2012 The Noob Crystal has a small Gap on the underside. So not easy to find a replacement
