Hello RWG,

I have no news from DW (Steven) since the 14th December...

Do any of you have news about him ?

I absolutely need hands set for my Daytona's, and I can't do anythings without these hands :(

Thanks in advance for your answers !

About Daytona hands, if you have good tips about quality hands set... :

daytonahand.jpg

As you can see, I'm not a big fan of the quality of my current hands...

The V726 reset seems to be a little... harder than the V72...

Plus my current DW hands are slipping a lot !

I'll try the Phong hands, but I don't know so much about the best way to choose about hands

Thank you very much for the link :)

My current WM have used epoxy glue to fix the seconds chrono hand. He do not used epoxy for the subdial hands on this watch (it was done on my other Daytona), this is why there is so much slipping.

It's not a big deal, even if I do not like so much the idea to glue the hands...

That is not the problem, the real problem on the (bad) photo I took is the hand is bent as hell, due to a reset of the chrono :bangin:

And this is definitely not recoverable :D

I have unbent 3-4 of those hands. If you are careful, you can probably straighten it right on the pinion.

But in this way, I can't use my chrono as much as I want... And I'm not building Daytona's to do not use the chronometer :)

So I'm looking for better quality hands :D

The quality of aftermarket hands is poor, so I do not know if another set from another seller will guarantee better results. As is the case with parts from DW, alot of this is luck-of-the-draw. You could order another set from another seller, but I would say there is a 50/50 chance that you will end up just repairing the hands.

Valty, you should try those from Yuki,

also you need tools to squeeze/broach to work on hands and pinions, when I talk about tools I mean good tools, not Ebay crap from Hong Kong

You should see a professional watchsmith, remember, I told you, these movements are fragile

Who is Steven ? another new "DW" ?

"DW" is confusing as 5 - 6 years ago the original DW was David Wong, as this name appeared on all paypal transactions. He completely disappeared from the rep makers/dealers world

now, we have DW watches, not the same person, different name

@RA

Steve is a man that work for DW, he is his forum admin over at the other rwg. I bought a few things from DW. I think DW has been in the rep world for a long time. But now in the last year his qualety is very bad. Spinmaster works on DW'S daytonas. I think this DW is the same as David Wong but im maybe wrong?

He hade paypal trubbels thats way he was saying he is going to stop with reps. I knownfor sure that paypal froz his account a few weeks back. But he still sells but just if you do a moneybookers transfer.

He posted on RWG1 that he has had to take care of his grandmother a lot due to health concerns lately and that he hasn't been able to login to his mail account due to technical issues. Think DW/Steve will focus on outstanding orders now, or at least that's what I remember from that thread.

About time, many members ar waiting for incomplete oders. Also one thing that sunk him, i think that there is a fee members or at least one waiting over a year for missing parts!

He will never leave the rep game!

He has some huge problems, but you can still order what ever you want and need. Buy with own risk as i said a few times before, the qualety is lacking BIG TIME!!!

For those without access to the other RWG I'll quote from Steve so you can form your own view - hope that's ok for everyone. 10th Nov:Hey guys,Selling reps and dealing with everything that goes with it isn't worth it anymore. Our own brands are doing well enough that David and I decided to stop selling replicas. After the remaining stock is exhausted, there will be no more made.End of Dec:Hi everyone,

It's been a hell of a month to say the least.

My Aunt and I are the only ones in the family able to take the time to help out with my grandmother, everyone else lives and works too far away. Then, a few days before Christmas, my Aunt fell down the stairs and broke an ankle and sprained the other. She's still in rehab, but getting out tomorrow afternoon. I'll be staying with her to help out for a little while. I'm like a caregiver lately.

I'm sure I have some emails in my yahoo account, but I can't access it. It won't let me change the password or anything. God knows whats up with that. Could be something with the TOR network.

Anyone who needs to contact me should send a PM. I probably won't be reading threads so anything in here may go unanswered.

Also, we won't be taking any new orders until further notice. Shipping and customs are strict right now, and Chinese New Year is in 3 weeks, so I'm guessing we will start with new orders after that.

At the risk of being rude, I'm going to ignore PMs about new orders, and only answer questions regarding previous or pending orders/issues.

Hello JJ, good to have some news :)

Yuki seems to be a good idea :) I will buy 1 or 2 sets from DW - the last set I had was not bad at all, and a set from Phong for comparison. Will try Yuki if the future sets are not convincing me

I think I will "mix" the sets, depending of the quality of each hand. It's quite cheap, so, why not...

About the building - I have (finally) found a WM in Paris; he seems to be good (he builds the two watches here) and he knows about Rolex

These 2 projects was not so easy to do, and the result is pretty convincing for the moment, apart some light details ! We'll see for the future...

About that - if you are still interested to work on my Daytos, I might be interested - just let me know if you have some time, you looked busy the last time :)
