simonporsche Posted February 23, 2012 Author Report Share Posted February 23, 2012 Yeah that will be the gunk and possible a bit of the now dry gasket, it's not be serviced since purchase ('84), so s service will be needed. For instance, I wanted service papers for a watch I knew was gen, but didn't have the paperwork for -- I sent the watch in and sent specific instructions to service the movement only. In your case, you could send it in for service and possible caseback replacement if deemed defective, but not to touch anything else. Explains the wear I guess. I've also been told its never been serviced, there's a date on the inside of the CB which refers to 1989, am I right? What's your views on the risk of that? Also here's a link to one I have my eye on. Any feed back is greatly appreciated.
