How about the pam with gen swiss movement? is that worth the extra 160??? I have been a rolex fan for awhile but I feel like possibly purchasing my first PAM rep...thinking the 111 is a good start?

Yes, the PAM111 is indeed the best Panerai Rep out of the box in my opinion. You won't go wrong with it!

I won't recommend to upgrade to the swiss movement.

Why?

The swiss movement is only at 18,000vph. Whereas the asian one is 21,600vph (Same as gen )

$160 more!!! That's ~64% of the cost of the Asian movement.

Use that money to get more straps (you will) or service the movement is wiser.

I was thinking of going Swiss too, but everywhere seems to be out if stock. A lot of people recomend sticking with the Asian, as they seem to be very reliable compared to most other one movement, then if they die do a swap then.

You can pick up a good ETA from a reputable dealer that hasn't been played with (ie straight from eta) for around £100 so would be better to wait till if you need it and swap it over then, at least from what I've learnt ;) that's my plan anyway!!

Got a response back from Anguses people today saying delay will be just over a week due to the recent crackdown for QC picks.

I wouldn't hold my breathy for a Noob any time soon. I e-mailed Joshua yesterday asking about Noob availability and here's his reply:

Hi,

No idea... Maybe in 2 to 3 months.. This maker is in disarray now..

Many production problems now for them.. and quality is suspect these days.

Thanks

Joshua

Dispute? What is wrong with you people

You ordered a backordered watch.

When a product is backordered the exact date they will come back available is always subject to change.

If at any point you decided you could wait no longer, than why didn't you just request a refund becuase you do not want to wait any longer???

If a dealer refused a refund than that might be a different situation.

For those not paying attention and just blindly ordering, Noob factory production is way backed up.

Basically unless you pre-order it is next to impossible to get any of their new watches. They are producing less than they are selling right now.

My guess is this is why Josh and Andrew are bad mouthing them lately and puching other factory offerings as they don't wish to sell backordered watches and deal with the added headaches of customers not willing to wait.
