danyg Posted July 26, 2012 Report Posted July 26, 2012 Can someone here tell me how the workability of the tags chronos are? Looking to get a cal16 from pc, and wanted to make sure the chrono works as supposed. This is how the watch is supposed to work, go to 2:00 for chrono part: youtube.com/watch?v=9PmrNwxi4ls can someone who own a good rep cal16 confirm the workability of the chrono please. thanks alot guys!
icoopernicus Posted July 30, 2012 Report Posted July 30, 2012 I own two Carrera Cal. 16 chronograph reps, they are fully functional, provided you purchase the watch with the A7750 movement. By this I mean they operate as a mechanical chronograph with a smooth sweeping second hand when the chrono is running (28,800bph) with running seconds at 9:00 position. It is very important that you get the A7750 movement, this should be listed in the details on the site. Any functioning mechanical chronograph will likely cost you more than $200.00, if it is around $100.00 then the watch likely uses a cheaper movement, 21,600bph with no chronograph. provide a link to the watch you are considering or even a picture of the exhibition caseback and someone will definitely be able to confirm the movement as A7750 for you.
danyg Posted July 31, 2012 Author Report Posted July 31, 2012 yeah, out of the pieces Im considering all are $250+, and A7750 movement. Thanks alot for clearing up mate! although now, other dilemmas announce their arrival... haha
danyg Posted August 3, 2012 Author Report Posted August 3, 2012 Do all the day/date (43mm) reps have the issue with the "G" in TAG not being arrowed? I have skimmed the dealer sites as well as reviews on various rep-forums, and they all seem to have the wrong "G". Im asking cause I have seen most of the cal16 day (41mm) logos being correct(ed).
icoopernicus Posted August 23, 2012 Report Posted August 23, 2012 I am yet to see a Day Date 43mm Carrera with the corrected TAG logo, I believe they all have the bad G with the applied logo whereas the printed logos on the 41mm versions are quite accurate. 1
maxman Posted August 23, 2012 Report Posted August 23, 2012 One of the biggest problems for Tag lovers is the lack of a proper G. Hopefully one day they will get it right....since they have done so well with many of the TAGs Mike 1
timer888 Posted February 3, 2013 Report Posted February 3, 2013 Sorry to dig up an old post but I purchased the 43mm day/date from watch international and absolutely love the watch. Was wondering if there has been a revised version with proper silver screws in the back (to replace the blue ones) and also the correct 'G' for the logo
danyg Posted February 3, 2013 Author Report Posted February 3, 2013 As far as I know, you cant get the cal16 daydate with the proper applied logo. I have seen people who changed the screws in the back and also swapped the datewheel which imho is the bigger gamechanger. Current date font is not good.
SSTEEL Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 This watch is on my list for sure, love it. Was unaware of the G in TAG, and the incorrect Day/Date fonts too.
danyg Posted February 6, 2013 Author Report Posted February 6, 2013 I once saw this watch with the correct logo, not sure if it was applied or printed. About the date font, I went a bit ahead of myself. Its acrually not that bad. Its the cal16 date only that has a horrible date wheel. 1
SSTEEL Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 This will be my next rep for my small collection
anitasababe Posted December 22, 2013 Report Posted December 22, 2013 My carrera has a realy good G on the TAG logo the arrow on the top of the G is good while the bottom part has a less sharp arrow but both visible.
