Good day fellow Geeks!

This forum and community consists of people who love, lust, obsess and baby their watches. For many of our friends and family it is a condition, a sickness but for us ‘’watch aficionados’’ it is rather a hobby that we love so much…Many of us including myself have owned/own genuine watches. I accidentally stumbled on this amazing forum more than 3 years ago while searching the web and never looked back…

Like I said it in another post (see link below), this hobby requires so much p-a-t-i-e-n-c-e J . You have to take the time and learn, research, read…etc. Doing so will help you avoid a very pricey experience and above all avoid deception, anger and regret. Want to see amazing pictures of some of BK watches?

http://www.rwg.cc/topic/147225-bk-the-unofficial-authorized-rolex-dealer/

A genuine watch will always be a genuine watch; I must have ordered and handled over I guess 50 reps so far mainly HBB, Panerai, Omega, Rolex, Chanel and a few others. I was never really a fan of Rolex to begin with however with time I have developed a certain fascination & respect to this brand which seems to be overpriced for what it is really but since I am a marketing executive I am fascinated how Rolex was able mind you huge marketing funds to build this premium brand image among the general consumers. The Rolex brand remained a classic even an iconic watch that remains current from one generation to another. I have noticed that the Rolex is extremely strong mainly a status symbol in North America especially in the US. On my previous Disney vacations to Florida (Disney Dream Cruise, Polynesian & Grand Floridian Resorts), Rolex=Success. I saw them everywhere even women….In Europe you will see a lot more HBB, Lange,

Glashutte, IWC, JLC …etc.

To be honest besides the HBB V1 I was let down by all of them with my unrealistic expectation from a replica watch…Call me crazy but I always managed to find barely noticeable irregularities which drove me nuts!!! and I have learned time after time to trust, appreciate and become even a friend with BK’s Garage (Bert).

As you can see from my previous post, I have owned many of Bert’s offerings and I have to say that every single watch I got without exception was beyond my expectations. Good components are 1/2 the formula. Putting together the components is the other 1/2, which entails extreme patience and extreme attention to details. This is precisely where Bert shines, offering you a bullet proof watch that rivals with the real one. What you get is an amazing value since you get superb customer service, genuine Swiss clean reliable movement, Swiss standards fit and finish and as a bonus pressure tested to 3ATM for peace of mind J

I waited well over 6 months for Bert’s TW LV which I have been wearing every day for the last few months and I still get weekly compliments everywhere I go. The fit & finish is nothing short that being a Swiss factory standards! That is how good it is…

So for my 40th birthday coming up soon, I decided to pull the trigger on a FRANKEN classic sub: The Rolex 16610

  1. The latest geuine rolex crystal with AR on cyclop

  2. Genuine rolex insert

  3. Genuine rolex crown

  4. Aftermarket tube for genuine crown (wholesaleoutlet990 tube)

It took several weeks to assemble and the package arrived at work yesterday. I was so excited like a little kid waiting for this package to arrive, taking delivery and opening it only to be yet once again blown away (is really an understatement)…not a single other watch can touch this one. You will find other alternatives and sources for this sub which are great as well; however

they are not clearly a winner over the TW sub because of the shorter bezel teeth, poor pearl, so-so SELs, distorted cyclop with over magnification…etc.

I always felt that Franken is a waste of time and money especially when modding is literally skies the limits!

I feel now that a Gen insert is definitely worth it because the pearl is never replicated in a rep/aftermarket insert. It is simply perfect.

Gen crown's top face is rather flat as opposed to the TW sub crown's rounded top face.

Some quick pics right after oiling and washing it, excuse the not perfect pictures...some to come on the week end :)

Finally, what can I possibly say other than those simple words: Thank you Bert!

Here's the link to Bert's TW offering:

http://www.rwg.cc/topic/139866-product-offering-tw-16610-sub/

My TW LV does not include any genuine parts and it looks stunning to say the least since it is already heavily modded by Bert

I just wanted to go all out on this black one for a special occasion since it will be my daily watch

It depends on what you would like to add, send me a pm for details or better yet contact Bert directly...

Trust me when I say that his watches are simply the next best thing after Rolex in Switzerland!!!

Thanks guys

Indeed stunning is an understatement

I also noticed while driving home the barely noticeable coronet of the 6 o'clock position on the crystal

Th sun was hitting the watch from my open sunroof and once home I could not see I again lol

Stunning watch especially the chirurgical precision o the fit an finish...

I will take better pics over the week end :)

I noticed that the pearl on the genuine black TW insert looks as if it is wet. Not sure i make sense at all but upon very close inspection i could see the difference vs. my LV.

The pearl itself seems is flatter and it shines more with what seems to be a clear coat giving it a nice gloss. Also the metal ring around the pearl is has rounded edges and is simply perfect!!! and also has a gloss vs. a more matt look for the LV metal ring...again being really anal here especially since i was very hesitant to add genuine parts but i do see the difference now... I am in love with it, i sound like such I looser I know

Even my wife yesterday told me what now you are geeking in bed???

BK just posted this on the other RG forum:

Quote:

"The dial is my custom one. The main thing is it has pbdad's SL. The triangular and rectangular markers have thicker rims while the round markers have thinner rims."

Some better quality pictures...

Bert by the way shaved some more the Crown Guards and his own words was it looks "spectacular"...and i tend to agree as close to the gen as you could possibly have and i am very happy withnthe perfect fit of the barecelt no need of TC V3 at this time unless you say otherwise...

Indeed, looks great a classic iconic watch...a couple of my friends have genuine Subs they handled mine and had no clue since i did not say it was a replica...mind you they are not geeks into watches like us and have no clue regarding the model, movement...etc

With those mods i wear them proudly and that genuine crystal with the AR cyclop gives so much depth to the datewheel which is especially evident from certain angles

Wear it in good health!

When you smoothen the bracelet edges "rounder" there's no way to tell (without opening the back) unless you're an absolute no-life geek (like a few of us). :)
