whoever Posted October 19, 2012 Report Posted October 19, 2012 Where to find this beauty on the right hand side? The Tag heuer? Sorry I took a pic from Davids thread..... Thanks!
cc33 Posted October 19, 2012 Report Posted October 19, 2012 It's not a tag it's a heuer. You can find them on ebay from time to time. They have a v72 movement inside. Appx 2k maybe a little less.
cc33 Posted October 19, 2012 Report Posted October 19, 2012 One of those donor v72 watches that fall into the category of too nice to use for a donor.. If that makes any sense.

cc33 Posted October 19, 2012 Report Posted October 19, 2012 Np, no reps of that one or any other heuer for that matter.
Nanuq Posted October 19, 2012 Report Posted October 19, 2012 Oh yes, very nice. Now THAT'S a chrono to lose sleep over. I've got a woody soft place in my heart for pre-TAG Heuers.
panerai153 Posted October 19, 2012 Report Posted October 19, 2012 I like them as well. No love for the modern ones, In my opinion they are pretty much "Department store" watches now. the old Heuer were something else though. i would NEVER cannabalize one of these to make a rep Daytona.
FxrAndy Posted October 19, 2012 Report Posted October 19, 2012 Heuer were a watch makers Tag heuer is a fashion lable to me
whoever Posted October 19, 2012 Author Report Posted October 19, 2012 Heuer were a watch makers Tag heuer is a fashion lable to me +1......this is a god damn beautiful watch! Any suggestions for similar watches? (non-Daytonas)

Nanuq Posted October 19, 2012 Report Posted October 19, 2012 Yeah I'd love to know more about it, It's the AOPA version and I've never seen another, thought I've seen a nearly identical AOPA Breitling from the same era.
FxrAndy Posted October 19, 2012 Report Posted October 19, 2012 Ok bob pm me an email address to send it to
Nanuq Posted October 19, 2012 Report Posted October 19, 2012 Wow nanuq! You have great taste! That's a ? It's an AOPA (Aircraft Owners And Pilots Association) triple date chrono, made by Charles Gigandet. It's almost identical to the first Breitling Navitimers and there's an AOPA chrono that looks nearly identical. But I've never seen another one like it.
maxman Posted October 19, 2012 Report Posted October 19, 2012 Check out some of the vintage Tissot watches. Some of them are absoutely stunning. Prices can be found In the $500.00-$1000.000 range. Little more or a liltte less....depending on the condition and service history.

panerai153 Posted October 20, 2012 Report Posted October 20, 2012 That to me was the golden age of chronos. There were some outstandingly beautiful watches back then. I believe what makes them so nice is their simplicity. The dials aren't cluttered, easy to read, and beautiful. I can't think of a contemporary chrono that comes close to those old models.
Ylfig Posted October 20, 2012 Report Posted October 20, 2012 @panerai153 .....agree compeletely Keep the beautiful pcitures coming guys!
whoever Posted October 20, 2012 Author Report Posted October 20, 2012 i like that Universal CC! There is actually one modern Chrono i always liked, i probably posted it already somewhere on RWG, so please excuse me if i repeat myself.....but well and oh, yes we're getting FAR away from budget items i was originally searching for
whoever Posted October 20, 2012 Author Report Posted October 20, 2012 lets get vintage again: i'm the proud owner of one of them....my only gen.... even if it's not a Chrono, i like it a lot.
