MADRED7 Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 They updated the dial color from brown to grey-ish brown, the pusher mod was done and the cyclops got AR. Dr. Theo

eunomians Posted November 14, 2012 Report Posted November 14, 2012 (edited) Hey gents, which AP Bands strap is closest to the OEM strap color? the doctored up photoshop pics of the watch make it look chocolate brown, but looking at real life pics, it seems more dark brown. I really can't tell, and my local Audemars Piguet dealer obviously does not have this watch in stock to compare (there is a lonely original version white date rubberclad rosegold for $52k). I've got a spare black hornback that I'll try with the watch, but I would like a brown one like the OEM version. I would get it with black stitching. Your thoughts? Thanks! PS. @A: an 8 for you? I've got an 8 albeit a different Bavarian monster Edited November 14, 2012 by Eunomians

MADRED7 Posted November 15, 2012 Report Posted November 15, 2012 The darker bown should work fine ... when I order my Don Ramon, I will put this dark brown hornback on it ... only need to dye or re-stitch the thread to gold or black or grey. Dr. Theo
eunomians Posted November 15, 2012 Report Posted November 15, 2012 (edited) I think they both would look great. Thanks. I'm soliciting opinions as to which shade is like the OEM strap. I'm still stuck on the fence about this. @A, actually this one is not an air-cooled machine. It's a BMW 8 Alpina-tuned Wow, watches and not just one but two cars alike in a way! My brother! kes_ Posted November 19, 2012 Report Posted November 19, 2012 Thinking about this one - but may be a bit too pimp for me.
sardonix Posted November 19, 2012 Report Posted November 19, 2012 Did you photoshop that? looks too nice to be photoshop virgin. Just a little edited was taking in my light tent inhome. This one is taken outside allmost non edited Olympus camera.
eunomians Posted November 20, 2012 Report Posted November 20, 2012 Wow! I just got mine. This watch is gorgeous in person!
Motoman4540 Posted April 1, 2013 Report Posted April 1, 2013 (edited) I got mine last week and it is gorgeous! The rep strap is not even that bad, although I think that an expensive watch needs a step up in band too . . . Quick question: Is the Don Ramon supposed to be lumed? Mine has none at all . . . Watchmeister Posted April 5, 2013 Report Posted April 5, 2013 Wow, that is gorgeous. Stunning pics too.
Legend Posted April 9, 2013 Author Report Posted April 9, 2013 OK I am seriously thinking about wanting one now.
Eiderdaus Posted April 20, 2013 Report Posted April 20, 2013 (edited) Guys someone said that the AP logo is a problem. But I see that the gen also has the logo in white. Am I missing something? Any major flaws on this version Sent from my GT-I9305 using Tapatalk 2 The Logo is gold my question would be if anyone could color this to gold, and could it be that the logo it self is wrong ? Edited April 20, 2013 by Eiderdaus
Legend Posted April 20, 2013 Author Report Posted April 20, 2013 The gen seems to have two versions, one with a "printed" white and one with a "raised" gold one. Both are correct. I do not know which comes first but I have seen pictures of both versions. They do exist.

fitipaldi Posted April 23, 2013 Report Posted April 23, 2013 Here you have the gen with white logo: So the rep is fine, no flaws (except the usual ones)
Guest Posted May 1, 2013 Report Posted May 1, 2013 EXCEPT: Caseback......Don Babon Which is one of the only things holding me back.
Legend Posted May 1, 2013 Author Report Posted May 1, 2013 EXCEPT: Caseback......Don Babon Which is one of the only things holding me back. Hey J I think the caseback spelling is correct for this one.
sardonix Posted May 14, 2013 Report Posted May 14, 2013 Got it back from Domi with AR on crystal on Donerix hornback
eunomians Posted May 14, 2013 Report Posted May 14, 2013 Looks fantastic! I have Domi's AR on my Lava. Looks like I'll have to get this done on my Don Ramon!!
andcaneron Posted May 14, 2013 Report Posted May 14, 2013 I love this watch and it will probably be my big Christmas gift to me this year. Does anyone know how well the plating on the deployant clasp holds up? I haven´t had a gold plated watch for a few years now, but on my last one the clasp plating quickly wore down and I hated that. It was a dead give away. After I only got steel watches. Now I want the AP gold.
