If you install a gen dial, which is thicker than the rep dial, this will give you a problem with the total hight (correct?) Now if I would install the gen dial on an ETA 2824-2, which has les hight as an 2836-2 will this solve the hight problem? Is it possible to install a gen caseback on a rep case? I understand the way you think but if your dial is thicker your stem position will come closer towards the case back. So you can compensate the total thickness with a thinner movement in order to still get the case back on and letting the rotor spin free. But you will have problems with your stem alignment. When switching dials it all depends on how much difference in thickness there is. There is a slight tolerance in the stem hole in the case. But I recently switched out a gen Constellation dial and an increase of 0.4mm was enough for the stem to not lign up anymore. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The great thing about that case is that you don't have an incorrect HEV to give the whole thing away. I wonder if that rep is still available? Hmmmm...
