eduardor Posted February 4, 2013 Report Share Posted February 4, 2013 Hi guys, just wanted to share some pics of my little project, is not finished yet since i am still waiting on some parts (tc 93160A bracelet, gen crown, gen tube) i just finished shaving the crown guards, first time i do this mod and i think i nailed it pretty good lol... it already has a gen insert.. what do yoy guys think? any other mod i should do? on to the pics: Gen insert and pearl Crown guards shaved Wrist shot on bond nato strap And for all you lume lovers here is some porn for you as well Any ideas and suggestions are welcomed... Reahult is not woky at all, i think it may be the angle of the pic. That's an SSD I believe. They do look woky in pictures but pretty close to gen in real life. This is the new Superlumed version, the SSD is the old version with the correct crown guards. The insert shown in the pics is a gen with gen pearl.. I have a new gen hev that would have a good home in that watch. Pm me if you're interested. Thanks Ruprekt, this would be great, but i took the movement out today while i was shaving the crown guards and it appears that the HEV on this new superlumed models is faux, i will check again since it would be very cool having a gen HEV on it. I have what I believe is an Ultimate SD (recently purchased from IRolexU) with gen crown and tube, BK date wheel overlay. At first I was thinking catch and release - but I've started to grow fond of it. I wonder if my crown guards need to be reshaped, can you tell from this pic? Nice gen like feel to the watch, other than the faint lume on the hands (and to be fair the dial doesn't glow as brightly as your torch like lum). eduardor Posted February 9, 2013 Author Report Share Posted February 9, 2013 I had to sand it down for about 40 minutes, since it's a trial and error thing, until it fitted perfectly without having to glue it. From that pic crown guards look ok to me, but as panerai 153 said, we need better quality pics. Crown guards on my SD covered the crwon on the sides so i had to trim them down. Now they look great. Should I work the CG like you did on your SD? 2. Do you think the crown should sit more flush with the body? 3. Why does my lume suck so bad, particularly on the hands? You might be able to see on the lume shot that my pearl is a little mangled near the bottom. I think I'm going to follow your lead on a TC dial (dial lume is decent but dial has some scratches - not pictured), hands and bracelet. Are you happy with your gen insert? Dont know about the lume problem, it might differ from watch to watch, and also my SD hands are a bit darker in color compared to lume dots, thats why i will change them for TC's. I am very happy with the gen insert, it really looks fantastic. I just recieved Tc's bracelet today and the clasp is awsome, i will post some pics later. Just pulled the trigger on a gen NOS 16660 insert that I hope to put in play. Will order the TC bracelet, hands and dial soon. Looking to bring this baby up to snuff.
