dieselpower
......the luminova hands and you'd have thought Rolex would be able to get the seconds hand to reset accurately! http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tree&goto=6439825&rid=0#msg_6439825 GLWS
SSTEEL
The ad does mention that the hands were replaced. The chromo hand looks spot on, but the sub-dial@6 is off as you mentioned, so who knows lol
dieselpower
I meant the chrono second hand. And it don't look spot on to me!
SSTEEL
I thought it was just the angle of the photo. The sub dial @6 is the biggest tell for me, but that could be faulty after 30 years.
dieselpower
I don't think it's the angle of the photo. The camera seems (I know this is guesswork) to be square on and the same fault is in both of the first two pictures.
sgtguk
Not sure looks off in some pics and not in others but I'm no expert ! Have dealt with this guy on vrf and he seemed a stand up guy, albeit nothing in this price bracket
dieselpower
Don't get me wrong, I'm not questioning the guy's integrity, I'm sure he's a decent chap as well. I just think it's a bit rubbish of Rolex if they let the watch come back to him like that - also I'd be fuming if they took some nicely aged tritium hands off my Daytona and put those brand new looking luminova jobs on. I wonder if they gave him back the old hands?
sgtguk
Probably worth a few bob if they did too I bet there's a reason for the hands being off, every photo's not the same though is it ?
freddy333
Yes, chrono seconds hand is slightly askew of its null position, but this is fairly common. If it left an RSC that way, I would have taken it back, but, like I said, the offset is slight & many would not even notice it. All things considered, the price seems a bit high, but not unreasonably so considering the accompanying provenance & condition.
Stephane
Most amazing is that the owner let RSC changed the hands and even more amazing is why would he change them? It's always possible to ask Rolex to change them but if he didn't ask him, then of course he should send it back. Allthough it will probably to late as in many countries I've been told that RSC does not return parts and just trash them I wish I was a trash collector at my local RSC ;-) I would make a fortune
dieselpower
Couldn't agree more Stephane!
