peduz Posted April 11, 2013 Report Posted April 11, 2013 (edited) Hi all! I want to buy an Explorer 2 216570 Black dial. I read some reviews in this forum and others but none compares the different versions. If you guys can help me decide which version to choose: - I better buy the "ultimate" or "noob" version? (big difference in quality?) - SwissETA or Asian 25J movement? - I want a black but the white version is better? Hope some can give some advices Thanks in advance Edited April 11, 2013 by peduz
peduz Posted April 12, 2013 Author Report Posted April 12, 2013 I also want to know if there will be soon new versions.. Maybe a noob V2 with correct black matte dial...
DeeCee Posted April 12, 2013 Report Posted April 12, 2013 Noob Version, I have the white dial one. The black dial is not Matte like the gen and apparently the date wheel is not beveled like the gen. This is what I have read in reviews. I always get the Asian 25j movements as they are reliable for me and the fact I don't trust that when you buy the swiss one, that you actually get the eta movement. The lume is a little lumpy on the white one but the super lume on it is amazing. The black dial doesn't have lumpy lume but I have no idea how strong the lume is.
peduz Posted April 12, 2013 Author Report Posted April 12, 2013 Thanks DeeCee! So the only flaw of the white is the little lumpy of the lume? If anyone with the noob black dial can reply please..
peduz Posted April 12, 2013 Author Report Posted April 12, 2013 DeeCee I see that you have also a Planet Ocean. I've got a 42mm Ceramic last version.. The Explorer is bigger on wrist?
Legend Posted April 12, 2013 Report Posted April 12, 2013 Funny, I just bought the gen version in white at a local AD 2hrs ago. Very happy with it. I think the white dial one would be very close, from what I saw on one of the dealer websites.

peduz Posted April 12, 2013 Author Report Posted April 12, 2013 The problem is that the white is more "showy" than the black.. Don't you think?
