ck5533 Posted June 4, 2013 Report Posted June 4, 2013 I bought a DWO V2 from TC some time ago and only decided to start my project recently. Found out the internal opening is too small for ETA2824. Is anyone has a similar problem or it is just me? Down to the photos for more details. It this a quick fix issue or TC has sent me a wrong one?
kbh Posted June 4, 2013 Report Posted June 4, 2013 It's normal but you're better off using an ETA 2836-2 date wheel on your 2824-2 so the overlay doesn't rub on the movement. Otherwise, be careful with the installation and double check before you put it all together and make sure it turns freely.
kbh Posted June 4, 2013 Report Posted June 4, 2013 The eta 2836 date wheel will not work on a eta 2824 they have two different date flipper setups. The date wheels will not be interchangable with each other, but you can remove the overlay and use that on the other movts date wheel. When it comes to the over lay you need to center it on the original date wheel. Check this out: http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/86779-the-birth-of-a-franken-pt-i/?hl=+franken Unless I'm mistaken the 2834-2 and 2836-2 are identical raised date wheels. According to ETA documents they are the same parts number, 2557/1, CS # 91.440.22 Now, since I have the ETA 2824-2 in that exact watch shown above with a 2834-2 date wheel installed, I would have to say it works.
ck5533 Posted June 5, 2013 Author Report Posted June 5, 2013 i did try many times, but it won't fit. It's way too small.... anyone has a pics/tuts to show....PLEASE
sneed12 Posted June 5, 2013 Report Posted June 5, 2013 i did try many times, but it won't fit. It's way too small.... It is not too small. That is the size that it is supposed to be. anyone has a pics/tuts to show....PLEASE There are literally hundreds of pictures of datewheel overlays installed on movements in this section... look at pretty much any of my build threads, or anyone else's.
FxrAndy Posted June 5, 2013 Report Posted June 5, 2013 I would love to help but i just dont understand what you are on about being to small

preacher62 Posted June 5, 2013 Report Posted June 5, 2013 (edited) This is just the way it is supposed to look. It is an overlay to correct the Rolex/ETA date position. If it were the same size as the date wheel it would not work. Edited June 5, 2013 by preacher62
bones Posted July 1, 2013 Report Posted July 1, 2013 Glue it on top of the other datewheel. It's not a replacement datewheel, it's an overlay. As in it lays over the top of the other one.
