bristolmarc Posted June 6, 2013 Report Share Posted June 6, 2013 Hi guys Huge fan of the oyster quartz here to the point where I am lucky enough to own one of JMB's scratch builds but when the bay offered up a nice clean 17000 case a few weeks ago I had to make it mine. Now the problem, the last time I attempted a build I practically destroyed the world along with a number of very useful movements and as I can not find a data sheet for the 17000 I am probably in even more trouble. I would welcome anyone input in terms of which tube, crystal and bezel parts numbers would be appropriate and then more importantly an easy way source and install a datejust dialed movement in! If anyone, preferably UK based, could sell me a dialed movement that I can just slot in I am more than happy to pay a sensible price. Any help, comments welcome, thanks guys! Thanks Alligoat and omgiv, your information is much appreciated! I am intending to put it on leather initially then keep an eye on the bay for a bracelet. I too had a 17000 about 10 years ago and let it go in a trade but have always loved the shape...it has an air of Gerald Gentas 70's models such as the AP RO and the IWC ingenieur.
