hey guys... browsing the original honpo site and came across yet another interesting find...

looks like there might be a abundance of vintage Daytonas in our future...

They look very, very similar to DW Daytonas!!! And more dial options!!!

can someone verify?

35,000.00 JPY Japan Yen = 301.908 USD United States Dollars

35,000.00 JPY Japan Yen = 229.755 EUR

this was the same price for the noobmariner when it was on here at first... wonder if we will see a price drop once other dealers get their hands on them?!?!

off how?

when you look at the picture of the dial in case... i can see the 5 o'clock dot is off... but its straight on the picture with the dial and movement outside of the case...

Ubi: what are the differences in the V1 and V2 cases?

2 oclock and 5 oclock lumes are off in the one I linked... when they show just the movement and dial it looks on, but every time it's in the watch it looks off...

In the pic I linked to first and third pic the 5 marker's lower side splits the lume dot... the dot should be 1 tick mark closer to the 20...

Others aren't as obvious but I get the feeling they are off... I am blessed/cursed with an eye that picks up small problems in symetry and alignment...

But yes, it appears they took pics of one with good lume dots for one set, but the one they chose for fully assembled has problems...

ok... making sure we saw the same thing!

i am pretty excited to see these being made...

at the bottom they have an older version to compare it to...

The lume dots aren't off, it's just distortion from the crystal edge.

Anyway, this is really exciting, and it's about time.

The version with the brown subdals is very interesting.

I don't think so... count the tick marks... the lume sits 1 tick too far clockwise....

It probably has 20mm lug size.

Plus as far as I know, the venus movement has WAY different subdial spacing and is also larger in diameter. How can the subdial spacing be accurate?

Are the case dimensions accurate? I dont know how they should be, maybe some expert can comment on that?

(I'm not an expert, but I DID stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.)

That would be my guess as well...

I don't know about the Seagull equivalent, but the Venus movement is about 1.55mm larger in diameter than the VJ72. Since there's not that much room to play inside the case, I'm guessing that these cases must be about 40mm (which would be consistent with other Seagull based Daytonas).

When a 37mm case has 20mm lug spacing, it is very easy to tell. However, the lugs look pretty proportional on these (meaning: of the cases are 37mm, then the lugs are probably 19mm...but if the cases are 40mm, then the lugs are probably 20mm).

Looking over the description, I don't see any reference of case size, but I do see that there is the 78350/19 bracelet (that DW used to offer) pictured, along with 571 ends that look quite familiar.

Also... For what it's worth, DW's 1st run of 6263's came with hollow link 78350 bracelets (small stamping)... 571 ends. Upon his return, he started issuing his watches with the solid link bracelets. Not sure what he offers with his v72 casekits, but there's no doubt that Tony can confirm what DW sends out with those (both past and present).

I'm excited to see them regardless...

I posted in the want ads for one and now, looks like i may just get MORE THAN ONE!!! Yay for me!!!

I hope these become available soon... I could use 2 or 3 different colors!

Eunomians: It has been a while for sure... I have always been here, just don't post as much as there are still the same "who has the best" threads everyday... not really any value in answering those...

But, I'm glad to see everyone being interested... hopefully we will be able to share our stories and pics of these models when they become readily available...

Ubi: were you able to find any chrono side pics to see if the crown and pushers were lined up up with each other or not?!?!

Ahh...I didn't bother to look at the case back pictures on the Honpo site, so I didn't see the stampings. It probably is 19mm then.

DW still doesn't have hollow bracelets nor correct end links. However, there are some floating around out there (for example, from eBay seller ryuichi683).

what are the correct endlinks for these models?!?!

is the clasp correct as well?

also, can the pushers be swapped out with gen ones on the DW cases?!?!

The reference I've seen says 271, 371 and 571 are correct. (With a 78350 bracelet, you'd want the 571's).

Can't comment on the clasp...typically the reps are pretty accurate.

Gen pushers cannot be installed on the DW case. The thread pitch is finer on the gens, and they cannot be forced.
