Tom
Can anyone help? I just received a 217 from a dealer in China who has been very reliable in the past. Unforuntaly the crown guard on the watch is upside down? the catch points upwards rather than downwards like a 1950. Has anyone else come across this? Would anyone know if I could get a guard to right this problem? My chinese guy is very honest and asked me to return it, but it against Chinese law to import watches of any kind and as I found to my cost they always get confiscated at chinese customs. It was only $100 so I guess I shouldn't be that surprised but it has started to grate. Edited December 11, 2006 by Tom

madonna
Have the same problem with a 127 ( but mine is a $270 "swiss" version ), and now waiting for the dealer to ship me a replacement CG. (He already shipped one, unfortunately the one I got was for a 44mm PAM) I know Davidsen sells good CG's, but they might be a bit expensive for a $100 watch. Could you post a picture of your GC ? If it is good, I might be willing to swap with you Are you in the US or EU?

BigSlickAK
EDIT: I re-read your problem. Indeed you have the crown guard facing the wrong direction. Sorry I misread too fast. ALl the best... You shouldn't be worried. Upside down crown guards are correct for the 217 Marina Militaire (production run 1,000) and the 127 - Fiddy (production run 1950) Here are links to the authentics. rmcsherry
I have the same problem with a PAM203 from one of our dealers, unfortunately the only CG he can get hold of is for a 127 (same as I was mistakenly sent on the 203) - it seems the factories are running low!
