  1. The five in the 50 looks very good. Even better than my TC LV insert. The experts with LV insert hawk eyes should be able to chime in.
  2. Looks awesome! Was just wondering guys. Will this 42mm take the 24mm straps advertised on apbands.com?
  3. Fantastic tutorial! I'm inspired to get back and finish my 1680 build! As soon as I have the movement serviced.
  4. The bad guy Owen hunting Statham
  5. Another nod for Clive Owen. Although he is probably past his chance. From his BMW short movies! To his badguy assassin in the Bourne movie to his military SAS badguy role in Killer Elite. I root for this guy all the time. I think he should at least play a Bond Villain or double agent.
  6. Very good replication! Almost there Just need to fix the height/size of the crown on the dial (don't know if that is fixable) and on the clasp? Improve it by sourcing a gen clasp? The two full size markers at the 6 o'clock could potentially by fixed if a dial expert could colour match the Rolesium dial and break those two markers in half at the SWISS MADE. In no way can the serifs of the fonts be corrected. In my opinion this is the one thing that Rolex experts will notice first. Unfortunate, too bad. Gen dial for comparison attached
  7. Sparkle, lume markers look good. Font of all the words (looking right for the serifs at the tips of the letters , L, D, E's etc) and then the markers at 6 o'clock are the two places I would look immediately to differentiate between Gen and Rep. Good Rep for a good price, but don't try to pass one of these photos off to someone who can study and spot these tells immediately. Cheers!
  8. Under the SWISS MADE at the 6. Should be a total of 5 half sized markers with the middle one directly under the 6 o'clock marker being bolded. For some reason this dial has two full size markers sandwiching (and spaced too far apart) around the word SWISS MADE, the three half markers are decent now as oppose to the first version dial with little circles. Looking at the serif font of the OYSTER PERPETUAL DATE. Looks all wrong as well. The L and the D stand out especially.
  9. This genuine is posted on a private seller. Should I even consider making an offer? Real of not , help please.
  10. Has anyone tried this look? I've seen some rare pieces that already come with the "tropic" or high curved glass or plastic crystal. I took the bracelet off my "DD" and checked the case# at the 12. Apparently it's a 116264. Which equates to a Turn-0-graph casebody. Currently it has the flat sapphire cyrstal which sits about a few mm above the bezel. Can anyone help me find a part # that will fit, from the listing of Generic curved pieces at http://www.ofrei.com/page419.html
  11. Looking for a pre'09 style (old with crescent links, before they came out with rectangle links) to fit a Gen Pam113 Will the Silixprime bracelet fit for instance?
  12. Appears that all the lettering on the repis font-bolded, including the engraved lettering on the caseback too. Similar to the Panerai Gen versus Rep. Always go straight to the font and that should be the instant tell.
  13. Here is a matching angle pic of the GEN to show the bezel and casebody difference. To be honest, the genuine crystal is pretty difficult to duplicate. Iv'e seen some of the reps and it's note even close.
  14. I've got the GEN. Great pickup btw. This picture shows the most tells. http://img261.imageshack.us/my.php?image=milgauss062tp9.jpg Case body underside on the GEN is more pointed (hugs the wrist). The bezel on the GEN is indeed a steeper angle versus the rep with flatter, larger bezel. I also notice the GEN crystal is sloped and doesn't sit as high as the rep. Maybe 1.5 mm height at most. The dial orange numbers 60..5..10..15 are also fine on the gen and not as thick as the rep shows. Cheers and congrats on the GV
  15. Fantastic watch guys. Even with the micro-tells pointed out in another review, I still love this. Hmmm, I was going to jump in at the $575 range (I believe that was the final price for the VIPs). Currently at $775 and about to shoot up to a $875. Can I ask what others are planning for? Waiting for the entire back-order to finish up or wait until BK begins his 'batch'? Myself, I understand how the pre-order plan worked. But for dropping an entire amount now (ie $775) and then waiting several months for all the <$575 orders to complete is a whole different story. Any input on what RWGs recommend? Dealing with BK or WM9? ps. I'm +1 for when this thing settles down. Anyone else going to pull the trigger on this?
  16. The Blue lume at 3-6-9 lasts for about a half hour. Then it just blends into all green. Rolex lume is nothing to write home about. Not like Seiko Lumibrite.
  17. Milgauss (Black or White) would be my vote. Not the Anniversary GV (the Rep looks nothing like mine).
  18. I agree. So many updates and improvements. I put my foot in my mouth with the WM9 YM.... as I saw over at BK's garage that he's selling the piece (pre-order tho). Whenever it arrives. And that would be my target goal, not another SUB. With the current Trusty, I've already done the bracelet, solid links with SEL's to my liking. Updated watch material pearl and bezel insert. Crown guards have been shaved. Lumed by The Zigmeister. So it's just a matter of getting a high sitting crystal. Yet I can't figure out what this one is?? Using my magnifying glass, it's somewhere in between 30 and 31 mm. But the parts at Otto Frei for instance are offering crystals down to the micro mm. 30.25? 30. 1? etc.
  19. On a side note, can anyone provide the dimensions (in mm) of Part # 25- 295-C-2 ?
  20. You saved me from buying one just today. Many, many thanks!
