Average cost of service?

Hey guys just wondering what the range is on cost for some of these movements.  In specific I am about to order an asia 2836...

 

Just wondering and I did try searching..  I know that vac and MD2020 both service a lot of watches in the forums.

I know it varies, I had mine done for about USD80. There are a number of folks in this forum that can help too.

Why would you spend what closely approaches the cost of a new rep to service an old one...??...Just buy another watch!!

It's like my mum. When she gets old, I'll chuck her out and get myself a new one.

Different strokes for different folks!  Spending around 300 on a watch you know you like and having serviced for around 80 works for me.  But that not be the case with what I have...just trying to get an estimate in my head.

I'd say you repair or service that watch you really love.  I can see the point of not spending a fortune if you can buy a new  rep watch for alittle more, but sometimes that watch is not available anymore. On the other hand, I think spending $ 100 servicing  an ETA iwatch s not that out of consideration, since the same service would cost you $ 200 or more if the watch is a gen like a Longines, Omega or the like.

Almost all reps are going to need serviced at some point in time. Some sooner than others, but if you keep replacing them when they fail it won't be long until you've spent way more than the cost of servicing.
