I have a gen GMT IIc dial coming and will be installing it on the rep movement. What's going to be the process and should a noob (on mods) dare do such a thing? TIA

Standard rep mov in BP GMT IIc. Pretty sure will need to clip feet also. Not sure how hard that is. I regularly clip my nails...

You will have to clip the dial feet and file down the remaining a of the dial feet. After that you will need a dial ring to install on the backside of the dial so you can then mount it to the ETA. Also make sure the dial coming off the watch is the same diameter as the gen. Could be to small or to big

I've got very little experience modding watches but if your thinking of messing with a Gen dial clipping feet etc and have little experience yourself, you must have balls of steel my friend :partytime:

My advice for what it's worth, grab ya parts and head for a modder :inverted:  you can always practice on the rep dial after !

Agree 100%. high priced hard to find parts are not the stuff to learn on. One mistake, and your new expensive dial is ruined.

I'd love Snead but he said he's busy... Just checked sgtguk... Balls NOTmade of steel... Will use a modded or my smithy. Would prefer one of our guys... Other recommendations for TRUSTWORTHY CONUS folk?

Mymanmatt is perfect for high end builds. He's built my super reps, daily beater reps, serviced gens and much much more and is centered in CONUS

I don't blame you mate  ;)  and yes mymanmatt I've seen some of his work but not asked him to work on mine as of yet, only heard great things though  :notworthy:  good luck with this one mate and keep us in the loop on the build too will be awesome I'm sure!

Matt's a member here, you can PM him. Matt's done a bunch f watches for me, and I'm very, very happy with his work. Nice thing about Matt, he keeps in contact, and will give me a call and we can discuss problems, etc.He has a lot of contracts for parts and is able to procure things that most of us would have a hard time finding, at a reasonable price.

Thanks for the pointers - coming from you long-timers I take your advice readily!

Another thumbs up for Matt.  I sought him out for a franken DJ after seeing iRolex and other post here (or maybe it was RG).

Stand up guy, no BS and good communication.

I think you've posted this on like 3-5 threads already.  Dude chill out…  Go buy a gen and save yourself the headaches.  Do some research because spamming the boards will get you no where and ignored FAST.
