ceocorona Posted August 30, 2013 Report Posted August 30, 2013 The blue color, the font and thickness, and where the blue and black ceramic meet at the 6 on the insert.
danielv2000 Posted August 30, 2013 Report Posted August 30, 2013 Here's a pic of your watch next to a gen.
panerai153 Posted August 30, 2013 Report Posted August 30, 2013 Pretty apparent that watch isn't going to fool anyone that has any knowledge of the GMT IIc's. you can see the flaws really well with the side by side. Blue is way too bright, but the numbers engraved in the insert are a real tell from afar. If it were me, I would wait on this model for a while, hoping the manufacturers fixed a few of the really bad. Mistakes. 1
ceocorona Posted August 30, 2013 Report Posted August 30, 2013 I believe the BP factory has a much better version of this watch. I know theres a few topics on RG about this. Sead and TrustyTime sell the BP version if I am not mistaken.
Mike on a bike Posted August 30, 2013 Report Posted August 30, 2013 If you look sead has two versions two different threads and if my eyes are not deceiving me one has the larger deeper insert font the other like this one, what do you guys think?
ceocorona Posted August 30, 2013 Report Posted August 30, 2013 I believe Noob makes one and then BP. They have subtle differences in the insert. As with a lot of the newer reps, if you piece together the best of both Noob and BP you can have a very accurate rep for a moderate price.
danielv2000 Posted August 30, 2013 Report Posted August 30, 2013 Also, notice how close the crown on the dial is to the 12 marker.
Donjuan18 Posted August 31, 2013 Author Report Posted August 31, 2013 Thanks guys! Can't resist the less than usd100 pricing..... Haha
Donjuan18 Posted August 31, 2013 Author Report Posted August 31, 2013 Wow!!! Where you get this from? It's movement? And price?
ceocorona Posted August 31, 2013 Report Posted August 31, 2013 BP GMTs can be sourced from sead (supermirrors) and Andrew (TrustyTime)
mm..mm Posted September 4, 2013 Report Posted September 4, 2013 Concepta, could you please share more photos of this beauty. Also, what flaws have you noticed the BP gmt has?
irolexu Posted September 4, 2013 Report Posted September 4, 2013 BP with out a doubt is the closest to gen I can find. I may buy one and tear it down and see just how well this thing is put together. I hope it is better then their subs! 1
mm..mm Posted September 4, 2013 Report Posted September 4, 2013 Hopefully ... Iove the watch and would like to Perhaps swap a gen bezel insert in it.
