My silix arrived last week, I wore it for a few days and when the weekend arrived I couldn't resist, I had to build what I've been waiting for for about a year.

Thanks, the crown is the stock silix crown, I just reshaped it in a drill with some files to give it a better profile.

It looks like it sits a lot closer to the case.  Did you shorten the tube too?  That's a nice touch.

No the tube is fine, the problem with this crown is that the 'click' of the the bezel is actually the bezel rubbing against the crown, it also lifts the bezel a millimetre or so when screwed down, so reshaping the case side angle gives the bezel a little more room and less pressure.

There's another trick you can try.  The Silix case has a funny divot where the tube screws in.  Try filling that with JB Weld metal epoxy, then shaping it, and tapping the threads through it.

Then when you screw the tube in, it holds it out from the case just a smidgen.
