astonjenks Posted October 17, 2013 Report Posted October 17, 2013 Guys Today marks the end of the build/recase of the Longines for a great fellow member, i'd like to thank him for his commission and patience! This movement has had a new stem, new balance shaft, new crown and been serviced, it was then retro fitted into a custom made case and fitted with a black croc/leather strap and deployant buckle. Both the new owner and I am very happy with the result, I hope you like it too. It is photographed with a previous Labrador watch that I built for the same member. The Lab is 47mm and the Longines 44. Happy to discuss any bespoke builds like this for that special watch you might want. Regards AJ
SSTEEL Posted October 17, 2013 Report Posted October 17, 2013 Awesome work my friend, well done. Very elegant looking, both of them
astonjenks Posted October 17, 2013 Author Report Posted October 17, 2013 Many thanks SSteel Both movements are around 100 years old so no looking bad for their age! AJ
gran Posted October 17, 2013 Report Posted October 17, 2013 These are my kind of watches ....my dream is to source a vintage PATEk, IWC or VC movement to transplant one time in the future Actually, the labrador/omega dépose depicted is more than 113 years young.....while that Longines 18.90M calibre is from 1924 so running into its 90th year,,,
Nanuq Posted October 17, 2013 Report Posted October 17, 2013 So if that Labrador/Omega beats 14,400 bph, then in its 113 years it has ticked 14,254,272,000 times. Amazing. Mind-boggling, actually.
astonjenks Posted October 17, 2013 Author Report Posted October 17, 2013 It stopped for a few days whilst we worked on it so a tad less Regards AJ These are my kind of watches ....my dream is to source a vintage PATEk, IWC or VC movement to transplant one time in the future Actually, the labrador/omega dépose depicted is more than 113 years young.....while that Longines 18.90M calibre is from 1924 so running into its 90th year,,, I had best keep looking then Gran!
