higginsd Posted January 6, 2014 Report Share Posted January 6, 2014 There are issues with the triangle @ 12 on some dials, it is crooked. The pushers fall off and MUST be secured with thread lock. The crown is sharped edged and the IWC-symbol on the crown is much clearer on gens. Some people see issues with the day/date wheels and the AR, but I personally can't see them. OK, the biggest issue is the movement, the 79320/ETA-7750 is much better and smoother. But this can be changed for 400-500$. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I went to the IWC store at NYC today, tried the 3777 (and a few other watches), it does look gorgeous, so I am about to order a rep. I can't say much about the closeness of the 3717, but all I read about is that it is one of the closest reps in the market. The 3777 is nearly perfect out of the box as I think (if you don't get a crooked triangle). After installing a gen dial and a gen crown you can call it a Super-rep. A gen 79320 on top and even an AD could only check the serial and find out it's a rep. OK, then you payed round about 1500$ for the complete watch. Style wise, after some "soul searching" I am also leaning towards the 3717 now mainly due to my small wrist size. I wish you could fit the 3777 bracelet on the 3717 but I guess that won't work because of the different case diameters. I plan to order a 3717 shortly.
