  1. The rep is definately a gorgeous watch. Pictures do not even do justice to this gem. This being said, the crystal's AR is probably the main downside of this watch. The contrast between the hands, the markers and the dial is not optimal for reading time in low light condition. I cant speak on the difference between gen and rep since I have never held a gen in my hands yet.
  2. Hi Daryl, my 3714-31 is a standard rep, dial included. The "4" is not of the newer style, so it is not curved:
  3. MAke sure they are competent! My father brought his Laureus Ingy to a regular watch smith and they could not even put the seal back in place after realizing that they had no clue what that movement was.... A kid's play ball is what I use to open the case back. I bet it is only the screw from the operating arm of the chrono that is loose or fallen. I had a similar issue with my u-boat flightdeck when I first got it.
  4. Its the opposite, V1 has a cloudy crystal (can only be seen if you take it of and put it through direct light. And V2 has incorrect polished line on the lugs: Image taken from RWI (PolonusTM)
  5. I have a 3799 and I am very happy with it. It is the exact same watch as in the movie "The Bourne Legacy". This model existed and was in the IWC catalog until 2012. It is in 2013 that the entire line up of pilot chrono watches (except the 3777) saw their sub dial layout changing from seconds at 9 o'clock position to 6 o'clock position. The movement used in thees pilot's watches is a derivative from the famous Valjoux 7750 now manufactured by ETA under the same ref number. IWC has added an extra plate and a module of three jewelled gears that are transferring the seconds from 9 to 6. Unfortunately our dear Asian friend have done the same but without jewelling the gears. This creates extra friction and drag on the movement therefore it gets the movement not to last very long. To answer your other question about the pusher at 10, yes, it is functional, well it does not activate anything, but it is a real pusher with a spring just like the 2 others. Although it is 46mm, I wears quite small. It fells just like my 44mm PAM, and maybe a bit smaller.
  6. V1 is from HBB V6 and V2 from Mark XVII factory
