Rolex rail dial gen?

First off this is not a rail dial. Rail dials have even spacing the E in Superlative and the Y in Officially are lined up directly above and below each other, the same with the C in Chronometer and the C in  Certified.

SUPERLATIVE  CHRONOMETER

    OFFICIALLY  CERTIFIED

AFA the watch, the dial is definitely suspect, the dial indices at 6 and 9 are too thin, and I'm suspicious of the shine on all the plots, this is either an  aftermarket dial that someone has vintigized, or a refinished  gen dial. Before putting down money for this one, I would have to see the movement, and a closer look at everything including the insides of the lugs to see the serial number, etc.

I suspected as much, just wanted confirmation.

The seller is claiming to be a Swiss watch specialist.

I'm currently seeking a gen great white so I'm learning all the time. Vintage rolex is a bug that's recently hit me.

I would suggest that you go over to the Vintage Rolex market and look there. the watches that are sold there are very carefully vetted by members who are very knowledgable. you won't have to worry about buying a fake Rolex there, and while the prices aren't cheap, the watches are priced in line with their rarity and condition.

I have no intention of using eBay to part with my hard earned. This was purely an educational exercise. It's actually given me extra confidence in identifying non legit goods.

The vintage rolex market looks good but seems to be mainly USA based sellers. I'm in the UK and there's not many sellers UK based from what I can see.
