Marksexton
I just got my first replica sub. BP with Asian eta, ceramic. I notice the dial is turned very slightly to the left where the 12 o'clock marker isn't perfectly centered at the top. Is this common?
Rolexman
It's a rep. So yes. These things happen.
irolexu
Unfortunately yes. Some people go owning these reps never noticing and some notice those issues immediately. Chances are your the only one who will notice it's ever so slightly right or left justified. Maybe a pic would help also to judge how bad it is. It could be bad enough were you want it fixed or it could be so little it's not worth the risk of tearing it apart.
Marksexton
This is with the pearl aligned with the center of the band.
Marksexton
Not sure why the pic twisted.
AKTime
These are pretty easy to fix. If you can get a rubber ball or even ball up some tape and use it to twist the case back off you should be able to use a knife or small screwdriver to turn the movement. It should move even with the case clamps tight if you are careful and apply enough pressure. Every rep I ever had came with loose case clamps anyway. It wouldn't hurt to tighten them while it's open. Pretty easy fix and very common.
Nightwatch
I just love my misaligned dials and markers. Without these markers - off the mark - how could I tell it’s a rep? What do You think of this?
rsh
that is some horrible lume application
irolexu
Horrible lume application. Besides that you have bad printing on the dial, bad hour marker surroundings (too thick) hands are off, rehaut engravings is always a quick tell and so on. Dizzy
Pretty hard to just loose the movement clamps and turn the movement. Don't forget there's a crown and stem keeping it from turning. Hard to tell from the pic but is the date centered in the window? It was probably just put together wonky or the dial feet are bent a little. Or they might have turned the dial slightly to get the date lined up in the window. Pretty easy to fix either way but you might have to take it apart.
