Reason I'm asking is, I have a Ploprof V2 that the 2836-2 movement has gone bad (Don't ask me how :-() and I know it has a unique movement holding ring in it. The DWO sits on top of the existing day/date wheels and the dial is only held in-place (aligned) by two dial feet But although the feet do drop down onto the holder but they are Not locked-in by any levers either like I've seen on other watches. So once you put the hands on, if you were to lift the dial, it could possible pop-off the hands. Once you set the movement in the case, the dial is held-on by the pressure of it against the front of the case and the two movement holding tabs on the back side. So I believe the rep manufacturers just made a custom movement holder to be able to use an standard Eta 2836-2 in the Ploprof. I will be attempting to transplant the movement in-between the holidays. But, since you have a unique case situation, you should probably go with the SW220 which is an exact replacement for the 2836-2, just to be sure. Well I'm not sure why the rep dealers (whoever made mine, I bought my V2 from and m2m sale) why they would use an ETA2836-2 when there is no day display, just your standard date window. Here is the movement inside, I've already verified it: Anyhow, I already have a new sw200 from a Seiko Monster that I'm not using so that's what I'm going to try to use as the transplant / donor watch. Thanks, Dave... BTW, you can see the 3 outside screws / tabs holding everything into the case. The 2 screws just on either side of the weight are the two that Barely hold the movement into the custom ring. The movement ring is about a good 1/8" thick maybe slightly more. You can see the notch for the stem on the right. So because the ring is so thick, the dial feet do not go far enough down for the factory ETA feet-levers to be used! The main reason that rep factories mainly use 2836-2 movements is they come standard with taller minute, hour, and second hand pins than what is standard in the 2824-2. Seiko uses their own movements in their watches. Dave another thing, I believe that the 2824 and the 2836 have different stem heights. I know in Rolex builds, they are not interchangeable, as the stem height causes problems with the movement if it isn't the correct one.
