DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT spend any more money on a quartz rep by having gen parts fitted, use teh money to buy a proper rep with a proper movement and then consider upgrading/modding it.

A quartz rep must be considered as the entry point to the rep world hence their price. They will always be worth circa $100, whereas a great rep with gen parts will hold some value against the parts you use.

Thanks a lot for your comments and no offence taken whoever, it's good to know that it's not worse it. i am considering buying a Gen as i am a speedmaster fan but i thought may it may work getting a rep then upgraded. thanks agian for your support

If you want to test drive a rep Speedy moon watch, I would check out price angels. They have a decent quartz rep and it's about 40 bucks cheaper. It's definitely not a high end rep, but it's probably the exact same watch.

Kiro , For $100 it looks pretty decent and its probably the best Mooney you can currently get.

 

if its this one , then I like alot 

 

I started off with $100 reps and miss those days of having fun and not worrying what people might say, then the curse took hold proper and I started spending silly money .  

 

Buy it , Enjoy it , smile at it and wear it till it breaks , dont waste your money trying to upgrade it , spend it on other 100$ reps  like the Tag Space X and another Speedmaster like the racing Quartz .

So, here's the update. i end up getting the Lemania version instead of quartz. replaced the crystal with sternkreuz high domed and the bracelet to dark brown leather strap. here are some photos,,,, please let me know what you think,, thanks

Nice Choice! the Lamania is wonderful and the crystal and band look great. I would freeze the 6oclock and where her with pride. Wish they would make a new superrep of this one.

May I ask from where you purchased it? And how much you paid? I'm in the same predicament myself. Thinking quartz, but might just have to get the manual. Decisions!

Tony is that a rep it looks gen to my eyes.  Subdial spacing looks correct and i didnt think any rep but quartz had the correct subdial?
