scott60
Hi, This is a recent fleabay purchase from a retired watchmaker who pulled them off of a damaged (he says it was probably a Sub but not 100% sure) Rolex in the mid 70's. They fit a 1030 calibre. Can anyone tell me what I've got here? TIA for any replies.

scott60
OK, thanks for the reply. I was under the impression that being silver, they might be 6538 service hands. Can you tell me why they are not 6538? cheers
cc33
I see why you thought that, after comparing them though it's easy to see why they aren't 6538 service hands. First pic: minute hand has a beveled edge where it mounts to the pinion 6538 hands aren't beveled, they are flat. Second pic: seconds hand pinion is too long, the 6538 seconds hand has a shorter pinion. Third pic: the "Mercedes sign" lines are too thick and the tip is supposed to have a larger cutout

cc33
You're welcome, I was thinking the seconds hand pinion is long and so it really has to be for a gmt right? Short for no date, medium for date and long pinion is for a gmt.. Anyhow, it seems like you may have a set of service hands for a 6542 but the gmt hand is missing. That's my best guess. Good luck!
