droptopman
Hello, I collect watches but have limited knowledge about the different models, parts and so on and I really do not work on them (yet). I am evaluating the possibility of building a vintage Sub--circa 50-60's like a 6538 or 5508 with nato or leather strap like Bond wears in the early movies. Looked around and see vintage gens going for 15-150K really don't want to spend that much. I have seen some nice vintage watches posted here but appears the owners collected the parts and built it themselves. Is it possible to have a rep or a fraken like this built by someone here in the forum? I am not that concerned with it being perfect or exact match but something that resembles it. Mainly looking for that vintage Rolex look with strap. If possible who might be a good contact for something like this. I realize this will probably be an expensive project. freddy333
I would recommend that you search the Rolex forum for others' experiences with pre-assembled franken Subs before buying anything. After you know what you are getting into, check out J&W or NDT.

jpz5142
Droptop - if you want less of a headache can go the easy route and get this homage: http://m.ebay.com/itm/221340802669?nav=SEARCH&sbk=1 These vintage rolex builds usually get pricey and it cause a bit of frustration for the guys building them. panerai153
Good advice from Freddy. There are tons of threads on the Rolex forum related to "big Crown" builds. I suggest you do a lot if reading and research before you start buying parts or watches.
droptopman
Thanks guys, probably should have posted this in the Rolex forum. Think I may have found something through one of our members.
