Lost pearl on my genuine 116660 Rolex DSSD

Sadly - Rolex charges about 550,- Euro for a new ceramic insert (You can not buy the pearl alone)

Who sources the best pearl / insert for DSSD, and will a non oem insert or pearl fit my gen 116660 ?

Hope to find some usefull answers :-)

I am really sorry for your lost but people here often do vice versa and put original parts on their rep watches. Personally I would not add aftermarket parts to a gen watch. Best would be to talk with your rolex dealer and ask what the best price is he can offer and try to keep the insert without the pearl and I am sure you can sell this one for quite some money.

Certainly there are aftermarket ceramic inserts that would fit your watch but they by far can't compete with the real deal. First the color of the numbers is white and not platinum as it is meant to be and to add the pearl is not excellent. So try to replace it and you will be happier in the long run and in case you want to sell your watch it gets pretty problematic with a rep insert ;)

Cheers

Here is another problem, Rolex will not work on a watch with Aftermarket parts. They will change the insert before they will do any other service. I personally would not use aftermarket parts on a contemporary Rolex.

you can get a rep ceramic dssd insert from andrew trusty.its a bp factory insert.u could use that pearl.but i would never use rep parts on a beautiful gen dssd

If I invested $10 g's in a gen DSSD I wouldn't think twice about spending $900 on a new insert.

It's a gen DSSD man. Putting a rep pearl on there is like putting Walmart brake pads on a Ferrari...Just my opinion.

Just reinforces my belief I will never buy a gen ceramic insert rolex. Too fragile and too expensive to replace the part of the watch most prone to damage.

$50 to swap out a gen bezel for a new one is reasonable. $500 is not.

For what its worth for next time. Look into jewelers mutual insurance. They cover my Gen dssd for about $100 a year and would have replaced that insert no problem covered under warranty.

That whole ceramic bezel and pearl is such an awful design for an alleged "tool watch". Not that a real diver would ever wear one anyway.

Even on reps people are constantly complaining about losing the pearl.

But if anyone knows where to buy the pearl only with same blue luminova colour, that would be great :-)

I would check with Darth Alex,,,,,He makes the best looking pearl's for the ceramic,,,,Also PBdad makes some very nice pearl's also!

Good Luck!
