lukenorris2011
Hello all, bit of a situation. The gap between my end links and watch lugs is unbearable IMO. The case is a 6538 from Mq. The bracelet is a gen swiss 7206 rivet. Here is the issue: Space between both lugs : 20.34mm Width of gen end links 19.84mm (probably was 20mm 50 years ago.) Now, can Anybody please shed any light on the width of yukis etc or any other rep "80" end links or and equally importantly, has anybody got any? I would be willing to swap for my Gen set. Just after a tight fitment got my case. Thanks guys........ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
cc33
That's weird, so basically the gap on your case is too large or the end links are too small. Hmmm Mine is a phong case but gen 7206 and there's 0 gap.. Can I see a pic pls
lukenorris2011
The Gen 7206 is swiss but it's from MQ so you never know if he's put swiss or American end links on it. Cc33, would you be able to measure you lugs gap, and or yor end links. The watch is off to SSTEEL for some other work so I do not have any pics right now. Just measurements. cc33
I will measure later when I can for now I can say, I don't trust Minh, you may have rep ends... Here's a Minh case with gen 7206 and gen ends.
lukenorris2011
Yep, defo does not look nothing like that. What are your end links? 80 or 58? Literature states 6538 used. 58 and Gmt 6542 used 80 which is what's on mine. Could this be the issue? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
cc33
Mine are 82 ends for later subs.. Doesn't matter all swiss ends that come with 7206 bands are the same size Minh makes rep 80's...

Nanuq
I bought MQ's "best quality" band and it came with 80 endlinks. One was an adequate fit, the other was too fat to go between the lugs. The endlinks are so flimsy you can bend them with a pencil and your thumb. One thing to check: a gen band has a nice transition from the case to endlink to bracelet. The midline of the lug when viewed from the side flows through the springbar hole, then right down the centerline of the band (again when viewed from the side). This makes a smooth "face" to the band down the endlink and onto the band proper. The MQ and Yuki bands have their endlinks attached weird so the centerline of the band (viewed from the side) sticks up above the centerline of the springbar hole. This presents the "face" of the band above the "face" of the endlink and you can see the "end" of the band itself sticking up. It looks odd, and is immediately recognizable. In this photo you shouldn't see the places where the green lines touch, they should be hidden and not visible.
lukenorris2011
Thanks nanuq, very interesting. Can anybody confirm that the 58 endlinka are 0.5mm wider and have a different shape compared to the 80's?? ogladio
According to my limited knowledge (and numbers in the pinned endlink thread here at RWG) I thought both endlinks should be exactly 20.0 mm... Can't answer for what's "Rolex spec variation" and what's rep spec
lukenorris2011
Hmmm ok. "58 and 80 are very similar 58 is 0,5mm bigger in width, the main difference is located at the back of the fitting, the 'ears' of the 80 are larger and located lower than on the 58" I found this on network54. Not sure how legit the author is. But it would for sure give me the extra 0.5 I'm looking for. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
dropbear2008
I would have thought 20mm lugs were 20mm lugs..
ogladio
Well, guess you could always buy and try a 58 endlink! Interesting info there, would be nice to hear if it works out.
lukenorris2011
Yes very interesting, they seem to be hard to find. I've given a local dealer am offer who has some . Let's see what he says. If anything, would be a great bit of info for the community !!
