danielv2000
The crown on one of my watches is a bit "wobbly" There is no other word to describe this. When I pull the crown it's loose. By that, I mean it has some give up and down (I'm pulling the crown out left to right). Also, when I change the dates, there's also some "looseness" in the crown as I am doing this. Watch keeps perfect time. Just curious what this issue suggests. Thanks for any input.
fraggle42
Cheap movement I'd say. One of the reasons they can be cheap is the tolerances are no where as tight as more expensive movements, resulting in this kind of problem. Or if it's an old watch or movement it may be wear on the stem, or the parts of the keyless works that hold other parts in have lost some of their spring or been bent back slightly? Difficult to know without more details really (how old, what sort of movement (Chinese, Asian, Swiss) been serviced, etc)
panerai153
I have the same problem with my 6542 GMT, wobbly stem. Mine has and old ETA 2846 movement. Mine was serviced about a year ago, so it shouldn't be a service problem. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Big Dazza
Could be the spring or tube which connects the stem to the crown is buggered?
mymanmatt
The spring in the crown gets weak. When it does, the crown will wobble
fraggle42
Good point, is it just the crown itself that wobbles around on the end of the stem, or the crown AND stem that are wobbling around in relation to the rest of the watch IYSWIM? danielv2000
Only the crown on a <1 year old genuine Swiss 2836. If it's just the spring, that's good to know.
