bvc
Hi fellas, I bought this from josh about 3 or four years ago. It arrived doa. At the time I was sick of sending watches back to china so after a local repair guys said it was completely [censored] it went straight in a drawer. Just so everyone is cool I'm not having a pop at josh. Can't blame him if bar steward posties play football with my watches. Just wondered if its any good or what it is. coz I got no idea about Rolex. I think I bought it as Swiss eta but might be mistaken, wondering whether to buy a new movement for it. Would you be able to help me? Just lately its caught my eye a couple of times. Or should I just email TC? Until I tried wacking it as a last resort a couple of years ago it tried to work but the second hand just bounced forward 2 or 3 beats back and forth. Like it was stuck. Some pics Just found this as well, no idea where I got it from! Genuinely don't even remember buying it. Any advice would be appreciated, Thanks in advance guys. alligoat
It's either an Asian eta or maybe a swiss eta, but it's missing the autowind rotor but it looks like the bearing is still there. It probably could be serviced w/ a new rotor and who knows what else. M458117 looks like a noob SN. Rehaut is decent, pearl looks ok, with a trim to the insides of the cgs, and a movement service, it might be a decent beater.
bvc
Thanks alligoat, with the wack I gave it I'm pretty sure it's [censored]. Sounds like its full of sand when you try to manually wind it. Any advice on a replacement movement? Re: the rotor maybe the watchsmith lost it when he looked at it! Cheers Bvc. SSTEEL
Both movements look like Asian, but difficult to say for sure without better photos showing the stamping. I'm in EU and could help you out if you are looking for someone to fit new movements for you. Drop me a pm if interested.
freddy333
As Alligoat suggested, the 1st needs a rotor. Beyond that, were they mine, I would have them both professionally overhauled (disassembled, cleaned, lubricated, timed) & wear them.
bvc
Alligoat and freddy, if you'd be willing to wear/fix them, that's good enough for me. Appreciate your input. Posting them to Finland tomorrow. Cheers guys Brad.
