SD4000 crystal

Walked into an AD today, while on holiday, to look at the new (and hideous) DSSD. They did not yet have one on display. But I did manage to try on the new SD4000c.

It was sporting a 3.0mm crystal rather than the 2mm that is on the subC's. From this angle, the raised crystal almost looks like a noob or BP!

Also, the lugs, while thinner, do not look symmetric. Could just be the angle, but the left looks thicker than the right:

I also had the pleasure of trying one out this week. It's fantastic! Always been a fan of the 16600 and this one does not disappoint.

I didn't really notice the crystal height at the time.

I did not think that I wanted a modern Rolex, other than maybe the 214270 Explorer.  And then I tried the new SD in Vancouver earlier this summer. 

 

Much nicer than the SubC.  There's only that problem I have with the price tag...

Agreed. The SD4000 is the only gen modern rolex I would consider owning
