ede70 Posted September 7, 2014 Report Posted September 7, 2014 Hello, i'm new here and i want to buy a big Pilot 5002. Is there anybody who want to sell One ? Thanks
astonjenks Posted September 7, 2014 Report Posted September 7, 2014 Hi Ede I have had quite a few 5002 and 5004's and there are a few differences on quality etc. Th emain issue with these can be the crown stripping the thread so always be careful when winding after adjusting time etc. The other annoying thing is teh rotor is very noisy. The attached is one of my slightly modded 5002's in as much that I fix the rotor so that teh watch is a mnaula wind only (good for 48 hrs) and I carefully lube the crown thread so that she winds on and off nicely. Finally fit a stunning strap from Peter which finishes it off and gives her the gen look. PM me for any details. Regards AJ
astonjenks Posted September 7, 2014 Report Posted September 7, 2014 The first is a 5002 and the second is a 5004 :-) AJ
ede70 Posted September 18, 2014 Author Report Posted September 18, 2014 I bought my First watch and it's real beauty. Thank you astonjenks for the watch and your help. He is a very serious member and absolutly correct. Thank you!!!!
astonjenks Posted September 18, 2014 Report Posted September 18, 2014 My pleasure Ede I believe a wrist shot is called for :-) AJ
higginsd Posted September 19, 2014 Report Posted September 19, 2014 You fixed the rotor and handwind it? Why? A small drop of oil to the bearing of the rotor will stop the noise for a year or two.
higginsd Posted September 19, 2014 Report Posted September 19, 2014 Yes. Did it with my 5002 and it is nearly quiet now. Keep in mind: it's a rep, it will never wind up as smooth as the 51111... And it's not so good manually winding an automatic watch every day.
sharkman07 Posted October 7, 2014 Report Posted October 7, 2014 My 5002 bought from Astonjenks is for sale in watches for sale forum. It needs a crown repair but is excellent with a full service, gen dial and Peter Alligator strap. Once repaired it is probably the closest thing to gen possible Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
valbonne Posted October 27, 2014 Report Posted October 27, 2014 Hi, I am new here and have a 5002 rep this is a little noisy. How do you remove the back and what oil do you use to lube it?.
