Starting with a WM vintage GMT (and Joe's skills):

We had the small GMT hand made for the ETA movement:

With a bezel lift and some case refinishing we should have something like this (but a little less beat up):

I like the one on the left with the pointed guards! Very nice!!

Joe is working on the pointed guards for mine. Now, the question is: will the dial on the watch on the right be 'correct' if it were placed on the 'pointy CG' watch on the left? ...or do I have to buy that older-style dial (gilted and glossy)?

The dial would be correct either way- if it's a pointed CG 1675- both were offered by Rolex.

Fantastic looking project. Where did you get the hands?

Damn you all!!!! Just when I thought I'd beaten my 1675 project fixation, even the nightmares had stopped (raiding an old watchmaker's cabinet, completing the perfect GMT which Nanuq then borrows for 'testing')

Seriously I think it's time to break open the piggy bank and go gen, right now it feels like I'll be :wheelchair: or worse :bounce: before I find an accurate 1675 case and bezel assembly

*edit* yes, I've found and very much liking the new smileys....what can I say, old dog, new trick... *

The small GMT hand was made by Michael Young (classicwatchparts.com)
