Noob V5 116610 Crystal Height Issue

Hey All,

I would like to ask if anyone would have the knowledge on how to fix, or should I say correct the crystal height for a Noob V5 Submariner 116610LN. As from my observation and study of the difference between the gen and the rep, two of the more visible issues are the crystal height and the fonts spacing and coloring on dial.

Now on the gen (apologies for not being able to have a pic for the gen), the crystal height should be the same height as bezel. which as you can see in the pic above, the height of the crystal is way above the bezel. So my question comes down to this,

1. Does anyone know if the rep use sapphire crystal with same specification as the gen?

2. Is it possible to correct the crystal height so it is at the same height as the bezel?

3. Thank you all very much for your comments!

Cheers,

J

Thanks guys for the generous feedbacks. so I may be wrong on how the Gen 116610ln looks then? truly appreciate your comments. Of course I'm a noob, that's why the question, but seriously I do research before posting, perhaps not enough.

here are more comparison pics of Gen agains the V5 from Noob

Gen Top, V5 Bottom, Gen may not flush with bezel but almost, compare to the V5

Gen left, V5 right, regarding the font I was referring to the equal sigh between 1000ft = 300m, where V5 have all fonts more closed together than Gen. The font on V5 is closer to 16610 from what I have seen

Do correct me if I'm wrong, it's truly good learning for a noob.

The crystal should sit very slightly above the bezel and not flush. Some guys don't know what their talking about. It may appear flush in some pics. Noob always gets this wrong. 2.35 gasket will cure the issue but you will need crystal press to do it properly.

Thanks watcher, I'm looking into the tools and steps on how to get this done.  Already ordered 2.35mm gasket. Hopefully I can get it right!

One question though is that the bezel die, I read on RWI that a special sized die is required to press the bezel back into place without damaging the gasket, do you have any idea the standard die size for rolex submariner bezel?  Cheers buddy

It's a 29.5 size die but I adapted a ring that fits on top of the ceramic retaining ring to help seat it down properly.

Actually I measured the retaining ring on my V3 and V5 Noob and the right size of the die should be 30.5mm (internal).

It can't be 29.5 as that is the internal diameter of the gasket, and you need to press a ring which is placed outside the external part of the gasket.
