Ice_Gee
Hello Gents, not posting much here, just more reading, but lets start with a longer post over here This is very special project for me. Never thought about the project like this but i was thinking what to do with esdee Type F as i really don't want it of cali dial. But there is not much choice here. 3 pcs dials won't fit and regulars 1 pcs dials won't look right here. Was thinking to put rivet dial, but still it needs deeper ring. Then Kiefer dial came up in my mind. Still it was too thick so shaved it down a little and got a perfect match. I saw a pic for a gen kiefer with slim case so wanted something similar. But this time i wanted something different so i took very small extra detail (Rolex crown) which gives something more special on this dial. The i though, i really don't want to paint that dial, so figured out what to do. Brainstorm was just to leave it with some aging techniques and just put it away for a month or so. And results was amazing! coloring of that dial is just gorgeos that's why i took same pictures with black and white shadows. you will see that bellow. Holio lume was applied on a white paints and was aged a little additionally to get a little yellowish. Same i did with that case. i even forgot that case is outside and it came super rusty so i had to make a restoration to it. Actually few times. Then reshaped all the case, slimmed down CB a little and once again made a restoration. You will see all the progress bellow. Same as on the dial i wanted some more tiny details on case itself so i have engraved small Rolex crown on display back and bigger one on solid back. Hands.. well Hour hand is from NZ (as minute hand never came up from post office), so i took binbin minute hand, heated and relumed. Strap..well this is amazing part. Very special from my friend Alexa. This is true history, smell, look and feel. Super comfortable, vintage rivets, very old and very special buckle with 2 metal pins. Movement, well known 616 with fine ROlex engraved bridge and removed sub sec pin. Runs like a charm. Watch is very simple but that gives so much unique look. Enjoy the pictures and i hope you like it as much as i do All the best G
