tframo
hi guys. I was originally trying to sell this but then decided to go the other way and put a gen movement in it.....further down the rabbit hole...I got a good deal on a gen 1520 movement over on the geek. $1000 for movement with decent dial and hands already installed Should be an easy swap I thought.http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=260329&p=2725413#post2725413 Arrived today, working well, I pulled it from the donor watch, and installed it into my dbane case. Fits like a glove and looks great imonow for the problem, i can't get the crown stem back into the movement, and movement isn't running..any tips or tricks I should be aware of? Thanks in advance with any help
marrickvilleboy
are you pushing down on the release pin as you insert the stem back in?Have a sneaky suspicion you may have messed up the keyless works here
whoopy12
I thought these have a screw to secure the stem, not a pusher-type release pin, right?
misiekped
No pusher on 1520There is a screw which you have to unscrew like two turn before you pull the crown out, The stem should be on setting position before you touch the screw When you put back turn the screw back, pull the crown once, push back and tighten the screw again If you unscrew to many turn you may damage the screw and need new one Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
dbane883
T, Did the stem come with the movement? Is it gen or aftermarket? But I'll repeat what misikped said above, make sure the set screw is properly tightened to secure the stem. By the way. That dial looks much better than the Yuki and more period correct for the 5513 you were going for.
tframo
Thanks for all the help guys! I got it working!!!took some finesse and tweaking the screw that holds the stem in place, which by the way you need a very small screwdriver..T, Did the stem come with the movement? I like the dial as well since I was going for around 1981 5513. not sure if stem is aftermarket Came on the donor watch/crown. I then put it on your gen crown. Here is latest pic on the wrist!
