cavi
Is there anyway to tell if a watch has a 2813 from a 2836 without popping off the top?
kernow
Good question, well asked. Alas, I don't know the answer but I'm interested also.
Revere
I think if you've seen enough you might be able to tell the beat difference by eye. I know I've been able to tell between a 21k and 28k beat before
junbug5150
Read this on another forum:Rotate the crown 1 full turn. If it moves 45min then it's a ETA or Clone 2824/34/36-2. If it moves 1.5 hours, 21JBut once you've owned both you can hear the beat and can tell by simply winding the crown to charge. Nightwatch
Winding is an instant tell if it´s a 2813, each 1mm forward will have several clicks, on the 2836 maybe 1 every 2mm.If shaking the 2813 and than stopping the rotor will continue to rotate audibly for a while, on the 2836 it will be lessaudible and soon stop. When looking close or under light the 2813 will always visibly stutter and hesitate with 5to6 ticks per second, the 2836will look balanced and smooth (8 ticks per second). With a lupe it´s possible to count the ticks.Plus the crownrotation/ time advancement like Junbug said with the 2836 advancing significantly less.
