calvin951121
Hi folks, introducing DW made by myself. I don't have any 6542 watch but I will do so , so I make the Date Wheel for my Vintage Rolex Project! Here are some photos. 15 pieces left for Roulette. 15 left for Arabic. Pm for payment details. Again, only test on eta 2836 , not sure is it fit on DG! No return. Test on 1680 with tagged photos. Disclaimer - (Borrowed from Buddha Jones) All sales are final. I won’t take anything back even if you find it too big, too small, too shiny or if your girlfriend / wife thinks you are crazy for spending this amount on watches! I described my items with the best intentions and to the best of my ability. If you see something wrong with the items that I didn’t see when I owned it that is on you. I will take of more pictures and answer all your queries before you pay me. If I wanted to screw you over, it will be for at least a couple million dollars so that I can get an early retirement, live on the beach and die there. $100 isn’t worth screwing you over. JoeyB
The '6' in the number '26' should be open as are the other '6' around the wheel.
alligoat
Actually Joey the 6 is closed on the 26 on the DWs for the 1500 series movements like the silver DW for the 1680 or the DW for the 1675 GMT. One of the little idiosyncrasies of vintage Rolex. But I've never seen a roulette wheel on a 1680. I'm not sure about the 6542 DW, but this looks like a nice one at any rate. automatico
This is probably no help at all but I have a couple reference 6605 DJ watches with roulette DW so I looked the rlx pn up and the DW for the cal 1065 ref 6605 is the same pn as a 1065GMT movement in a ref 6542...pn 7090. Maybe the same roulette DW was used in many of the 10xx movements. Trivia...the numbers run clockwise on the 1065, 1065GMT etc but run counter clockwise on the day-date models with this base movement.
JoeyB
The 6542 used 1036 (1954-1959), 1065 (1957-1959) and 1066 (1957-1959). The 1500 series was first useed in the GMT with the 1675 model, 1565 (1959-1964), 1575 (1965-1980), 1565 (1959-1964), 1575 (1965-1980). When I made my overlay to print I looked long and hard at many of them. The ETA and DG movements rotate opposite of the genuine Rolex 6542 and later movements. https://www.hqmilton.com/timepieces/morx9gol/1956-rolex-gmt-6542-with-tropical-serpico-y-laino-dial-8700 https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/bring-a-loupe-december-9-2016
alligoat
Silver DW on a 1575 movement- Rolex's little quirks!
calvin951121
Reply all above. @JoeyB the DW is all redesign the position for eta movements. I know the genuine one and eta is opposite way. @alligoat I haven't build any 6542 yet, so I test on 1680. And those sliver DW is so beautiful :winkSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
