need expert help - comparison GMT II

Hi Guys,

I need your expertise regarding this two rep.

Im new at this, and im trying to learn as much as i can, and reading a lot in different forums. Finally iv'e decide to buy a nice and good rep.

But im confused, wich of this would you guys take? When im reading about them the only difference i can see is that the more expensive one has "Wrapped 18K Gold thick to 10-15 mils"  and the cheaper one "just" gold plated.

The other thing that make me confused is that on the cheaper on it says:

"Upgraded to Superlume!!! Ultimate Supreme Version!!!
This is made with reference to the Genuine SS GMT Watch
External Dimension is 1 : 1 as per the Genuine
All external Parts are Interchangeable with Genuine
Updated with New Alpha Numeric Serials
"

and nothing like that on the more expensive one. So you can see my dilemma as a rookie in this branch?

The most important for me is that the watch looks like a gen, and the weight, i want the weight to be as much as a gen as possible.

As i see it would pay 688USD if that watch is the better one and looks more like a genuine, but if the cheaper one is identical to the cheaper one i can't see why i should buy the one for 400USD more.

Factory: NOOB Price: 258USD

I hope i post the thread in right place, and i also hope that you guys can come with some opinions.

Thanks

Personally, I'd steer away from gold replicas. While they can be decent they're not as "believable" as their steel counterparts.

And being an "old school" guy I think USD 688 is a ridiculous amount of money for a Chinese knockoff.

Get the cheaper one. In close inspection you're not going to fool any expert with those anyway. If you want better GMT replica get the SS basic version that I reviewed here.

The problem with these watches is the center SELs- are they wrapped with gold down the sides? Possibly the more expensive one is, the less expensive one maybe not- or maybe both aren't which is a dead giveaway that the watch is a rep. Maybe you could check the QC pics, or try asking Andrew.

Better yet, as BT says, just get a plain SS model.

SELs are solid end links, the bit where the bracelet joins the watch head

Wow, thanks for the answer and pictures!

Got a answer from andrew now and he said -

"Weight is about the same but the wrapped gold ones have wrapped midlinks which look a lot better than the plated gold ones which midlinks sides are not covered in gold

Thanks"

So iv'e decided, if im going to buy two tone im going for the more expensive one, just because it's wrapped all over. But maybe i'll look at an SS instead, don't know im confused now haha!

Big thanks to everyone for your respons!
