mlfloyd
Hello Members. Where can I buy an after market SS half-link for my Datejust? When I perform a web search on it, the returns (eBay included) only reference whole links. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

alligoat
That is a full link- jubilee links are smaller than an oyster link- about 1/2 as big. You might try rafflesdials.com http://rafflesdials.com/two-pcs-steel-screw-adjustable-links-for-mens-20mm-vintage-rolex-watch-jubilee-band-bracelet/ maybe it'll work
mlfloyd
Thanks Alligoat. I was looking for a thinner link, not a full one. The links vary in height because the bracelet is tapered. I need a link that is half the width.
alligoat
all the links with screws in them are the thinner links- they're the same width as the clasp since some of them fit inside the clasp. If you have the newer bracelet with the hidden clasp, you might have to order a whole bracelet and scavenge the links from it and hope that they fit your bracelet. mlfloyd
I have the bracelet with the hidden clasp. The band fits tight. When I add a link, the case migrates off-center of the wrist. Remove a link and it’s too snug. I’m in between, which is why I inquired about a “half-link”. alligoat
That's the problem with the hidden clasp- micro adjustment isn't one of it's features. I ran into it with a gen DD with the oyster band- it even had a half link, but I still have to wear it slightly loose. Older style clasps have better adjustment. mymanmatt
Be sure your buckle is centered. Close the buckle , hold the watch by the case in front of you. If the buckle is not level, or close to level, remove a link from the side hanging down and put it on the other side. Then ck it again. That will change the fit completely. May help solve your problem. Good luck
mlfloyd
Thanks Matt, I was using that method. I can’t remove another link or the fit will be too snug when the wrist swells. I’ll have to live with the off-center fit.
