docdoowop
My vintage oval Jubilee bracelet has a ton of stretch but its very confortable. I want to push in the outer in so that things are a bit more tight. Is it safe to press down on both sides of the bracelet to reduce the gap? Or will I disturb the welded outer links and make the links loose and they would eventually fall off?
alligoat
The pins bend allowing the bracelet to stretch. Michael Young in HK and others replace the pins to recondition the bracelets. There's also a company in San Francisco that does this. I don't know if the pins are available to the public, but taking the bracelet apart is a chore in and of itself. It might be better to let a pro make this repair.
Nanuq
Michael Young will make that Jubilee like new. He does amazing work. You also have some worn / bent / stretched links. Look at the one I circled, it’s been pulled “open”, resulting in that gap. My 9305 bands wear like that, where the pin passes through the center links. They develop a groove inside the bend and get weak, the gaps open up and they look stretched.
