SD/Sub Datewheels

I have a MBW 1665 DRSD and a 'standard' 1665 DRSD. The MBW has a white date wheel. The 'standard' has a silver datewheel. I have read various opinions on what colour the datewheels should be (I don't have a definitive answer) and I have also read that there is some difficulty sourcing silver datewheels for a 1665. I find it all very confusing. Therefore I would like to pose two questions.

1. What colour should the datewheel be on a 1665 SD?

2. Given that both my reps use the same ETA movement should not the two datewheels be interchangeable and the 'problem' not exist?

Oh, I just thought of a third question

3. If the datewheel should indeed be silver, how could MBW be so rubbish as to fit a white one?

Just because two watches have the same movement it doesnt mean the dials will be interchangeable.. Some of the more accurate replicas have the date window in the correct position which is about 3mm more central than an ETA, so they use a date overlay that budges it along to the center.. obviously if you have one dial with the accurate date window position and one with an ETA position the date wheels cant be swapped :)

The 1570's originally came with silver datewheels, like this-

Flat top 3's, open 6/9's except for '26' and the finish was a radial brushed pattern.

However, RSC replacements were sometimes white; same characteristics- flat 3's, open 6/9's, 26 is still closed and now the finish was matte/solid (not brushed).

The overlays that kruzer, arch and I made were a duplicate of the genuine wheel (my silver wheel was the basis for the project), except that we flipped the rotation of the dates CW to work with the ETAs (1570's had the date rotating CCW). Otherwise, the font size, diameter of the print ring etc are all the same as the genuine. These emulate the white version wheel.
