ravishingrick
Hi, I have a problem with a PAM with swiss ETA 6497. Out off the blue the watch cannot be set into time setting position. It winds up O.K. but when I attempt to pull out the stem, the movement does not shift into time setting mode, If I pull real hard the stem just comes out completely and the watch remains in winding mode. I tried several times to refasten the stem, tightened the stem screw real hard, and retried to engage in time setting mode, but I just keep on pulling out the stem. Anyone know how to fix? Michael. ravishingrick
easy fix the stem has a small stem-screw... you should screw it in... it is loose. I have fastened the stem real tight, by tightening the stem screw to the max, but still this does not fix the problem. I think the gears that manage the winding/time setting function are jammed somehow. When I pull out the stem, the gears dont shift, by trying to get the gears to shift I apply more force then useual, probably to much force that causes the stem comes loose. PS: Anyone know where I can get a supply of stems for (PAMS) ETA 6497 movements?
Polynomial
easy fix the stem has a small stem-screw... you should screw it in... it is loose. He said he tried the steam screw. I suspect the screw is spent out and not long enough to reach the steam, the screw needs to be replaced most likely.
FxrAndy
Could be the keeper spring for the keyless works has snapped, i have a noob works like that, but i doubt it as they are quite strong on a works this size, i suspect that the (forgot the name) castleated gear in the keyless works has manage to dissengage from the keeper., Not massively hart to put right but requires some disassembly of the works.
