Look at this Sinn

One of the gens I’d consider plunking down some money on is a Sinn (there are many I like). I was checking out some detailed pics over on Timezone, though and I swear the pearl (or top triangle on the bezel) is crooked.

Look at the second pic, for example. The left part seems to reach higher than the right. In the third to last picture, it’s even more clear… on top of that, the datewheel looks crappy, crooked and too far down.

I posted this because I just think it’s funny how we scrutinize every detail of the $200 watches we buy – these “flaws” would be completely unacceptable in a $200 rep from China. I’m gonna pay $1600 for a real Sinn?!

Great choice! I would have bought this one too if not for its somewhat small size.

I think the errors you are seeing is due to the shots being so close to the watch, plus them being not completely straight-on. They are a very high quality watch and don't have the obvious flaws that some of our reps are plagued with.

I would find it hard to believe that there would be any flaws with a Sinn (but sh*t happens sometimes). My reasoning here is that Helmut has always made his watches to such an exacting degree that Sinn is ohhh-so German (if u catch my drift). Even when Sinn used up Breitling's old Navitimer parts (when Breitling went out of business for a few years) - Sinn's Navitimer was better built than the originals at the time.

Anyhow, I can't argue with what actually could be a random quality control flaw, but in general, Sinn makes the best watches for the least amount of money.

Trust me on this, put a Lemania 5100-based EZM-1 in your pipe - then tell me what you think of that smoke!
