This are the mods - Dial, lume and hands aged - Case rounded and CG's reshaped - Genuine tube and '67 Triplock crown - Gen Tropic superdome #39 with rubber seal (watch is watertested with a 30m dive ) - Ubi datewheel... pain in the butt to install the first time but when its done it looks great! - Caseback reworked to be gen looking - Lug holes drilled and gen springbars fitted - NATO strap for cool looks Enjoy! vortx
how do you best remove the black on the back engravings?
tmg
KKS, Very nice! time_holder on ebay sells gen inserts for about $100, just contact him and ask. There has been some question if they're the real article or not, I purchased one and compared it to a gen I have and it definitly is. You other option is a classicwatchparts insert and watchesandparts on ebay sells the lumi dots.
freddy333
how do you best remove the black on the back engravings? If you can remove the case back -- It is easy. Just get a can of paint remover from your local hardware or auto parts shop. Lay the case back on a flat, non-painted surface (I used my stainless steel kitchen sink) and spray a good coat of paint remover all over the case back. Let it sit for several minutes and repeat if necessary. Then just rinse the paint remover off (along with the paint on the case back) and you are done. Simple, quick, easy and works every time. And great work kingkitesurf. Ofrei.com sells good inserts for about $35.
