dadog13 Posted May 13, 2006 Report Posted May 13, 2006 time ago i came across this beauty... maybe some of you have seen it...so, as the summer time is coming...imagine yourself witht his baby on your wrist?!!! LINK 1 :KonTiki concept watch LINK 2 : Eterna KonTiki concept watch comments are welcome!
By-Tor Posted May 13, 2006 Report Posted May 13, 2006 There are some magnificien Kon-Tiki models. Eterna belongs to the same category with brands like Zenith, Ebel, Hublot and Tudor. Great watches that rep factories constantly ignore. Kon-Tiki chronograph is very nice but this is still my favourite:
gran Posted May 13, 2006 Report Posted May 13, 2006 Nice But to me the SEIKO MARINEMASTER is the very best diver ever http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=3334
Richard Tracy Posted May 13, 2006 Report Posted May 13, 2006 Kon-Tiki Huh ? This is a first look for me... Great looking time-piece... what are the price ranges ?
dadog13 Posted May 13, 2006 Author Report Posted May 13, 2006 this one is a concept watch...so i suppose there is no price for it...
davewe Posted May 13, 2006 Report Posted May 13, 2006 (edited) Here's my Kon tiki. Edited May 13, 2006 by davewe
dadog13 Posted May 14, 2006 Author Report Posted May 14, 2006 it is definitely the best looking watch... sorry Gunnar Gran but the seiko isn't even close to this beauty. it is definitely the best looking watch... sorry Gunnar Gran but the seiko isn't even close to this beauty.
Watchmeister Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 I love that concept watch. If it does come out it will be a toss up as to whether my next gen is that or a decent looking PAM with a proprietary movement (read: one that doesn't have a power reserve resembling the speedometer from a 1973 Chevy running across it).
swdivad Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 That is one amazing looking watch.... From the design, it looks to be very expensive. I'm in for the rep lol :-)
bres3000 Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 And, look! It comes with an entree: Le Concept Watch à couper le souffle
Quarks Posted July 18, 2006 Report Posted July 18, 2006 Very nice watch. It caught my eye eversince I first saw it in a watch magazine. I think I actually saw it in Singapore in one of the watch stores about a week or so ago. The store is one of asian distributors of this watch. On the display window, it has a yellow style strap and a yellow dial face if I recall correctly. My mind is fuzzy now with the watches I have seen for the past few weeks. And it costs around SGD$13,000+ I think. Did not try it, would love to though. For some reason, seeing it in person did not actually trigger me to walk in the AD for a closer look. Good to see the concept watch finally become a reality in ADs.
Guest TTK Posted July 18, 2006 Report Posted July 18, 2006 As a design exercise the Kon Tiki is a very nice watch.....as a practical diver's watch it misses the mark by quite a bit.....legibility...functionality......clasp are all aspects that a pro diver would dismiss.....it will never replace an Eco Drive.....or a good Suunto......but on holiday in Greece.....it'll sure look nice....!

Gerco Posted July 18, 2006 Report Posted July 18, 2006 The kon tiki is a very, very nice watch, but as a diver I want a suunto under water.... But at the beachbar....this is defenitly a watch to wear there.... Gerco

If it is the price you have there, I wouldn't mind getting it. SGD$13,000 is a little expensive, that would roughly be about USD$8,000+. Definitely on the high side. I could have been mistaken for the price as I was pressing my face against the window to catch a glimpse of the price tag

Not cheap, but not hideously over the top.

dadog13 Posted July 18, 2006 Author Report Posted July 18, 2006 I hate digital watches...loved them when i was a kid...these days I like only the mechanical watches even quartz are not anymore on my whishlists....
dadog13 Posted May 13, 2008 Author Report Posted May 13, 2008 Was this Eterna Concept watch ever released? yes, it has been released....price is around 9,000$ if I remember well
Watchmeister Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 Than I suspect it is going to remain a concept - at least in my mind.
